+ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Oliver Rothner, and I’m passionate about design, engineering, and 3D printing

I currently work as a Project Coordinator at Pro2Pro, a rapid prototyping and small-scale production company. Here I manage projects across all departments, optimize processes, oversee FDM 3D printers, and maintain accurate data on ongoing jobs. This role has given me hands-on experience in metrology, finishing, CAD, CNC, vacuum casting, RIM and injection moulding, and pattern making.

3D Printing:

I’ve been fascinated by 3D printing since receiving my first printer at age 15. Since then, I’ve designed and shared models online, reaching over 8,000 downloads, and have built and modified multiple printers. This includes creating a custom direct drive hot-end and beginning the process of designing and building my own custom printer from scratch. I have also received an award for my work in Product Design, recognizing my creativity and technical skill. If you want to check out my free online models they can be accessed on my MakerWorld and my Printables accounts.

Education:

I recently completed A-levels in Product Design, Electronics, and Computer Science (AAC) and am now studying Maths A-level through an accelerated course. I am studying 20 hours a week while working 30 hours a week. My goal is to pursue a degree apprenticeship in 2026 to gain both qualifications and hands-on experience in the field I love.
