Introduction

Hi, my name is Oliver Rothner. I’m 19 years old and have a strong passion for engineering, product design, and 3D printing. This interest has been with me for as long as I can remember. I’ve been told that as a child I would take apart almost anything I could get my hands on just to understand how it worked, usually putting it back together with some form of “improvement”.

I received my first 3D printer for my 15th birthday after months of researching which machine would be right for me. Since then, my setup has grown to a total of four printers: two Creality Ender 3 Pros, a Bambu A1 Mini, and an Elegoo Centauri Carbon. While some of these machines are now outdated, every one of them has played an important role in developing my skills.

3D printing has been a key driver of my interest in product design and engineering. It has allowed me to turn ideas into physical objects to a professional standard, while also pushing me to develop valuable skills such as CAD, problem-solving, and iterative design.

The aim of this blog is to document my projects and share what I learn along the way. I plan to post every fortnight, covering both successes and challenges, as well as any insights I think could be useful to others. Each post will be short, easy to digest, and most importantly practical.
